Charlemagne Initiation 3.jpg
An initiation ceremony for students starting the preparatory course at  College Charlemagne, on Quai St Bernard, Paris involving competitive games and dares whilst being showered with raw eggs and flour. Collège Charlemagne is linked to, and is on the opposite of the road from Lycée Charlemagne at 13 Rue Charlemagne in the Marais district of Paris. Constructed well before it became a lycée, the building was originally the home of the Order of the Jesuits. The lycée was founded by Napoléon Bonaparte in 1804. The lycée offers two year courses (prepa), preparing students for entry to the Grandes Ecoles, focusing on mathematics, physics, chemistry and engineering. Saturday 9th September 2017.
